Sandalwood trees soar through the air by helicopter in this video of Paradise Helicopters working with Hāloa ʻĀina. Helicopter pilots fly with a long line cable attached to the bottom of the aircraft to haul out huge sandalwood trees - a method of transport called a sling load. Trained ground crew professionals work in tandem with the helicopter pilot to ensure safe transport. Hāloa ʻĀina helps rehabilitate the forests of Hawai'i by planting endemic sandalwood trees on the Big Island in the Kona area.

Sandalwood farms help to rehabilitate the forest as a whole due to the special way sandalwood grows. Sandalwood is a parasitic tree that must grow together with other trees - so to succeed in growing sandalwood, farmers must also grow a healthy forest environment. The nutrients drawn through the deep tap roots of the host tree are absorbed by the sandalwood tree.

Paradise Helicopters in Hawai'i works with local businesses across the islands to support their operations in industries such as agriculture, construction, real estate, property management, search & rescue, photography & video. Paradise Helicopters also offers transportation between the islands of Hawai'i by private charter as well as sightseeing charters and tours.
