A “smiley face” was spotted from the Kilauea volcano’s crater during an ongoing eruption. Mick Kalber of helicopter tour company Paradise Helicopters captured the spectacular scene, while lava from the Hawaiian volcano’s Pu‘u O‘o Crater reached the ocean for the first time since 2013.
