Sunscreens containing two chemicals are now illegal to be sold in Hawaii. But don't sweat this, sunscreens on the islands and all over the country have already removed those chemicals.

Key West Florida and Hawaii both passed laws to remove chemicals that have been proven to harm reefs. But it gets confusing on what is reef-safe or reef-friendly and what the truth is out there on sunscreen. Erica and I recommend wearing sun-protective clothing and putting mineral based sunscreens on your face and other exposed areas. That is the best option for the reefs, with what we know today.
