The swell was too big for us to not go check it out. This northwest swell was the largest in 10-years to hit Maui and everyone was out to watch it on Maui's north shore.
Erica, Henry, Hattie, and I watched the waves break at Ho'okipa Lookout. We wanted to go to Pe'ahi ( or Jaws as is more popularly known) to watch big wave surfing but the crowds were too big. We weren't up for that but Ho'okipa lookout, just down the road, was just as impressive. The waves were huge and they only got bigger as the day went on.
