Maui, Hawaii gets hit with new COVID restrictions starting September 15th, 2021.

- Maui’s Mayor Victorino clarified 3 new COVID restrictions that go into effect on September 15th. The announcement was made on September 7th, see the slides here: https://www.mauicounty.gov/DocumentCenter/View/129070/97-Press-Conference-Slides
- #1 Starting September 15th, one must show a vaccination card or a photo of a vaccination card to dine indoors at restaurants and bars. Only restaurants and bars are impacted by this restriction.
- Unvaccinated individuals can dine outdoors or have take-out
- Showing a negative COVID test is not an option like on Oahu.
- Children 12 and under are exempt from this requirement.
- Details have not been provided but Oahu’s vaccine card program requires the vaccine card to be VAMS, DoD, or CDC only. Sorry internationally vaccinated viewers.
- #2 Restaurants and bars must close at 10pm
- #3 Visitors will also find cuts in capacity. 50% max capacity for restaurants, bars, gyms, recreational boating, ground transport tours. Down from 75%
- Restrictions will be in place till October 15th, 2021
