Stay calm and take out! We’re trying takeout from new-to-us places as well as long time faves.

Hi folks, Maria here, and this is your Two-Minute Takeout.

Today, we went to Willow Tree in Aikahi Shopping Center. Willow tree has been open in Kailua for 31 years, turning out fresh Korean food and today, we're trying a little bit of all that they have to offer.

I got—and this is what I always get, lunch combo: spicy chicken katsu (which they are famous for), meat jun and then I got fried mandoo. I also got a side of jap chae and then I got turnip soup. The lunch combo, you can get veggies or mac salad, and then it usually comes with rice. I usually forgo the rice to get mac salad and the veggies. So they give you a meat jun sauce, they give you a side of kim chee, and then they give you this kind of like thousand island to put on your shredded cabbage.

So this is $16.95 for the lunch combo, it's plenty of food. The jap chae is $13.95, and this is just a small portion from the container that they give you. And then I got the turnip soup, which for a small which is two orders, is $3.50. Every time that you order the spicy chicken katsu it is an extra fifty cents to add that to your compbo or to your plate.

Mmm...*eating* the spicy chicken katsu is so good. At it's not super spicy. I really love their meat jun, it always just had the perfect amount of egg and they cook it until it's golden brown. *Eating* and then of course their kim chee, mmm. Let's get into the jap chae, mmm.

The turnip soup, just honestly I got it because it reminded me of being able to dine in there. And then, this mandoo here. The mandoo are nice and panfried, lots of fresh herbs, juicy. They give you two pieces if you choose it as one of your "meats". The combo lunch plate I think by itself is a great value and is a lot of food. This one is definitely more homestyle, which I like, it feels the littlest bit more healthy.

They're now in the renovated Aikahi Shoping Plaza. If you like Korean food, check them out.

Alright? See you next time! Bye!
